Very Nice Winchester Model 1895 Rifle in .30-03 US

Serial #84445, .30-03 US, 24" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has minor freckling within the grooves.  This is a 1914-made rifle that has 80-85% of the original blue remaining on the barrel, with spots of plum-brown freckling along its length, as well as silvering at the muzzle and some impact marks on either side of the rear sight dovetail.  The frame has a mostly pewter gray patina with more brown freckling, but retains some of the original blue on the sides of the magazine and lever.  A Lyman 21 climbing rear sight was once installed on the left side of the receiver, with a more recent sporting type rear sight fitted into the barrel dovetail.  The walnut forend and buttstock have small handling marks and surface blemishes throughout an old, added oil finish.  This is a very nice example of a Winchester Model 1895, and chambered in one of Teddy Roosevelt’s favorite cartridges.  FFL or C&R
