Winchester Model 1890 Third Model Slide-Action Rifle
Serial #354395, .22 WRF, 23 3/4" octagon barrel with a fine, bright bore that has hints of freckling within the grooves. This is a 1908-made rifle that has retained 80-85% of the original blue finish, with the balance turned to a mellow plum-brown patina mixing with gray. Silvering is present along the edges of the barrel facets and other projections as well. Additionally, the barrel was relined and the muzzle was shortened by 1/4" and given a slight crown. The walnut buttstock and grooved forend are in very good shape, with scattered small handling marks and blemishes throughout, as well as two tiny chips along the sides of the top tang. The crescent steel buttplate is mottled gray, and has some small impact marks as well. This is a very nice little rifle that has a good amount of original finish remaining, and would make a nice addition to any collection. FFL or C&R
