Excellent Boxed Smith & Wesson 32 New Departure Safety Hammerless 1919 C&R

Serial #215548, .32 S&W, 3 inch round ribbed barrel with a bright, near excellent bore having one tiny spot of roughness just forward of the breech with very strong rifling.  This is a Third Model .32 Safety Hammerless revolver manufactured by Smith & Wesson which the factory letter indicates shipped on March 1, 1919 to A.G. Alford Sporting Goods Company in Baltimore, Maryland.  In excellent condition the metal surfaces retain virtually all 97-99% original blue showing some scattered speckles of light oxidation and a couple light handling marks and the trigger retains strong case-hardened colors.  The checkered hard rubber grips rate excellent and the right panel is stamp-numbered to the gun.  All the serialized parts are numbered to the frame and barrel-to-frame fit, as well as timing and lock-up, are excellent. Included is the original red hinged box which is end labeled to the gun, the pencil number on the underside is very light but appears to be matching, in about fine condition with some small tears and minor wear to the corners and edges and some pencil marks and wrinkles on the lid. The end label is clear with a few flakes along the lower edge and the interior labels are fully legible with some ingrained soiling and scuffs.  Included is a factory letter from Smith & Wesson.  This is an outstanding example of a Third Model 32 Safety Hammerless. This gun was previously sold at Amoskeag Auction as part of the Roy Jinks Family Collection.  FFL or C&R
