Antique Remington-Elliot Deringer 22 RF 5 Shot “Pepperbox” Pistol

Serial #6746, .22 RF, 3 inch barrels with very fine to near excellent barrels with strong rifling and some light pitting spots.  This is the Remington-Elliot Deringer manufactured from 1863-1870 and know as the “New Repeating Pistol (Elliot's Pat.) No.1” and was an improved version of the Zig-Zag Deringer.  The ring trigger pocket pistol has fixed barrels with a rotating firing pin.  In very good to fine overall condition the metal surfaces have toned to pewter-gray with traces of the original blue in the barrel facets and protected areas.  The two line name and address on the barrel top is legible but slightly weak.  The rose wood grips are solid with light use marks having most of the original finish now worn smooth.  Mechanically it functions properly with the firing pin advancing properly on each trigger pull.  A very nice example of this neat Remington pocket pistol.  Antique
