Early S&W .38 SA Baby Russian Revolver With Rare Long Barrel 4"
Serial #4598, .38 S&W, 4" barrel with a very good bore that has some light freckling within the grooves. This revolver has matching numbers on the frame, barrel, cylinder, and latch with the metal having an overall mottled gray-brown patina with about 15-20% of the original nickel remaining, mostly along the barrel and on protected areas. Areas of mild pinprick pitting are present throughout, but heaviest along the sides of the frame, and within the cylinder flutes. The checkered hard rubber S&W grips are numbered to the gun on the interior, and are in very good shape with flattening of the points, some smoothing at the trailing edge of the right panel, and some minor handling marks at the butt on both sides. The lock-up is tight, and the action is fully functional. This is a good-very good example of a seldom seen, long-barreled Baby Russian revolver, and would make a fine representative example for a collection. Antique
