Scarce U.M.C. Black Powder 32-40 Ballard & Marlin Ammo Full Box
This is a full box, 20 original rounds, of .32-40 Ballard & Marlin black powder ammunition manufactured by the Union Metallic Cartridge Company with 165 grain lead bullets. Believed to date circa 1889-1893 the two piece green primary label box has a very very nice cartridge cut with call out for Ballard & Marlin rifles along with the Winchester single shot rifle so pre-dating the Model 1894 Winchester. The scarce box show internal tape repairs to the seam split edges which have minor cardboard loss along with some flaking of the label. The cartridges are in excellent, bright condition with one showing age darkening. A very nice example of this early UMC box.
