Very Fine Remington Model 4 Rolling Block Rifle
Serial #355023, .25-10 RF, 22 1/2" round barrel with an excellent, bright bore. The barrel of this February, 1933 date-coded rifle retains about 92-95% of the original blue, with the balance turned to a mellow plum-brown patina. The frame retains a commensurate amount of original color case-hardening, with some fading to speckled gray along the wrist tang, and on the trigger guard bow. The small parts retain about 97-98% original blue, and all markings are crisp and clear. The smooth walnut buttstock and forend are in fine condition with some light handling marks present in the original finish, as well as a single small chip at the right front of the forend nose, and some minor marks in the wood near the frame screw on the left side. The original sporting sights are still present, and the action is fully functional. This is a splendid example of a small frame Rolling Block, and rates excellent overall. FFL or C&R
