1963 US M1 Garand National Match Rifle by Springfield Armory
Serial #3348163, .30-06, 24" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a ca. 1963-made rifle with a 1963-dated, "NM" marked barrel (correctly inscribed, not stamped), and all "SA" parts with "NM" marked gas tube, op-rod, and non-shrouded (but still correct) rear sight aperture. The front sight is not marked. The metal retains 97-98% of the original parkerized finish, with some trace silvering at the muzzle, and further silvering on the bearing surfaces of the bolt. The glass-bedded walnut stock has a crisp DoD Eagle on the left side of the wrist underneath a short diagonal crack, and clear "P" (in circle) proof on the inside surface of the grip. The stock is numbered to a different gun inside the barrel channel. Only a few very minor handling marks are present in the wood, but there are circular "ghosts" of now removed stickers on the right side of the butt, and on the left side forward of the cartouche. The stock compartment is empty. This is a really nice National Match Garand, and is in fine overall condition. FFL or C&R
