Antique 1st Model 2nd Variation Safety Automatic Iver Johnson Top Break 32 S&W Revolver
Serial #30679, .32 S&W (black powder), 3 inch barrel with a bright near excellent bore showing several tiny pits with strong rifling throughout. This is the Iver Johnson small frame Safety Automatic revolver, first model, 2nd variation manufactured in 1895. In excellent condition the barrel frame and cylinder retain virtually all, 99% plus original bright nickel finish with some scattered light handling wear. The blued trigger-guard shows about 97-98% of the original finish and the hammer and trigger show much of the original case-hardened colors. The checkered hard rubber grips with floral and owl’s head motifs remain excellent. Mechanically it is sound with excellent timing and lockup with the lifting lever functioning properly. An excellent example of an early First Model in very high condition that is not often encountered given the wide use of these popular revolvers. Antique
