Antique Hopkins & Allen Ranger No. 2 Ivory Grips 32 RF
Serial #9915, .32 RF, 2 5/8 inch barrel with a fine dark bore with strong rifling and a few pits. This is the Ranger No. 2 model spur trigger revolver manufactured by Hopkins & Allen with barrel patent date of March 28, 1871. The well built single action is in fine overall condition with perhaps 55-60% of the original bright nickel finish with most of the loss on the barrel and cylinder. All numbered parts correctly match including the ivory grips which are each numbered to the gun and remain in excellent condition. Mechanically it functions properly holding at half and full cock with crisp trigger and proper timing. The cylinder pin, however, does not lock into place as the retaining tensioner is locked open allowing the pin to sometimes come out and impede the cocking. A fine example with scarce ivory grips that would make a good project. Antique
