Antique J.M. Marlin XX Standard 1873 Pocket 22 Long Revolver Excellent

Serial #9634, .22 Long (black powder), 3 inch round ribbed barrel with a very fine dark bore with strong rifling and light pitting.  This is the J. M. Marlin XX Standard 1873 Pocket Revolver manufactured from 1873-1887.  In excellent condition the spur trigger revolver has very nice markings with the left barrel “J.M. MARLIN NEW-HAVEN. CT. U.S.A. PAT. JULY.1.1873” and the rib “XX STANDARD 1873”.  The barrel, frame and cylinder retain about 90-95% of the original bright nickel finish with some flaking on the cylinder and the hammer shows slightly muted case-hardened color.  The rosewood grips rate about excellent, are numbered to the gun, with some very light use and handling marks and a tiny chip on the right panel bottom .  The lock up is tight with a hint of up and down barrel to frame movement, excellent timing and crisp hammer pull and trigger.  An excellent example of these neat little pistols not often found in high condition.  Antique
