Antique Webley Mk. III .38 1st Pattern Revolver With Folding Trigger
Serial #3911, .380 Revolver, 3" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some dark spots of freckling near the breech. This is a handsome, early production revolver with captive firing pin, that has matching numbers on the frame, cylinder, and barrel, and is fitted with the very rare folding trigger. The metal retains 92-95% of the original nickel plated finish, with some flaking along the high and projecting edges, as well as dark brown freckling, most noticeably on the cylinder. The checkered hard rubber grips are in fine condition with only minor wear and a few small handling marks. The barrel lock-up is tight and the mechanism is fully functional. The extractor spring is weak and does not come all the way up. This very revolver is very similar to the example illustrated and described on pg. 153 of "Webley Revolvers" by Bruce & Reinhart (1988), and is a splendid example of a highly desirable, rare .38 folding trigger Model.
