Antique Whitneyville Armory Model #1 22 RF Revolver

Serial #6720, .22 RF, 3.125 inch octagon barrel with a very fine bore with good rifling.  This is the Whitney rimfire breechloading revolver Model No. 1 manufactured from 1871-1879 marked “WHITNEYVILLE ARMORY CT U.S.A.” on the barrel top.  In very good to fine overall antique condition the barrel, cylinder ,hammer and center pin are mostly pewter gray with some original finish in protected areas especially on the hammer with nice markings on the barrel and some flattening of the knurling on the pin.  The brass frame is a mellow aged brass and the rosewood grips rate about excellent with wear on the high edges.  Mechanically is holds at half cock but not always at full and does index properly.  A great looking example of the Whitney No. 1.  Antique
