Original Pre-Civil War Gun Importer Advertisement A.W. Spies & Co. New York

This is an original pre-Civil War advertisement for the business of A.W. Spies & Co., New York, NY importers of “Guns, Pistols, Rifles, / Gun Materials for Manufacturing / Guns, Gunsmiths' Tools, Powder Flasks / Belt Pouches, Sporting Implements, …..Rodgers' Mostenholms and other Fine Cutlery...”  The detailed ad for the company which spanned from the 1830's into the 1850's.  The sheet measures 5” x 8.5” and is very well framed, encased between two sheets of thick plastic the preserved letter remains in near excellent condition with crisp graphics showing old staining along the edges.    Topping the document are line drawings showing a Colt's Dragoon revolver, Ethan Allen style pepper box derringer along with percussion and flintlock rifles.   A unique item for the gun room or to display with your early firearms.
