Civil War Colt Model 1860 Army Revolver

Serial #81320, .44 Caliber, 8" barrel with a very good bore that has light-moderate pitting along its length.  This 1862 manufactured revolver has matching numbers on the frame, barrel, cylinder, trigger guard, backstrap, and arbor, while the wedge is a well-made, non-original part.  The barrel has an overall mottled gray-brown patina with thin freckling along its length, and the loading lever has some traces of bright color case-hardening on the web.  The cylinder has a mostly bright gray patina, but does have some traces of the original blue at the rebate just ahead of the stop notches.  The frame retains about 60-70% of the original color case-hardening that has dulled over time, but is still visible along the flats.  The walnut grips are in about very good shape with light wear and numerous handling marks and blemishes scattered about.  There is no evidence of a US inspector cartouche on either side.  The lock-up is still tight, and the mechanism is fully functional.  This is a nice looking 1860 Army, made during the Civil War, and is in very good plus condition overall.  Antique
