Colt New Service Revolver Chambered in .44 WCF Built in 1909
Serial #21270, .44 WCF (.44-40), 7 1/2" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This handsome revolver was made in 1909 and incorporates the then-recently introduced Positive Lock (at serial #21000). The metal retains 92-95% of the original high polish blue finish with some silvering at the muzzle, along some of the high and projecting edges, as well as some further gray fading along the backstrap. The hammer, trigger, and screwheads retain a commensurate amount of their original lustrous fire blue finish, with some trace freckling present on the sides of the hammer. The checkered hard rubber grips are in fine-excellent condition with faint, but legible, matching numbers on the interior of both panels. The grips exhibit very few handling marks and only mild flattening of the points. The Cylinder and extractor are numbered to a different gun. You would never know by looking at the finish (we missed it when it came in the shop). The lock-up is tight and the action functions flawlessly in both single and double-action. This is a fabulous looking, very early production "Improved Model" New Service, and is in excellent, little-used condition. FFL or C&R
