Colt Officers Model 38 Special Heavy Barrel Mfg 1950 6" barrel

Serial #597062, .38 Special, 6 inch barrel with an excellent, bright bore.  This is the Colt Officers Model Heavy Barrel target revolver manufactured in 1950.  In excellent condition the barrel, frame and cylinder retain about 87-90% original blue with most loss on the barrel which has a slightly mottled appearance with scattered freckling.  The original checkered Silver Colt Medallion grips are slightly worn with scattered use marks.  It is sighted with a square notch rear and blade front target sights.  It times properly, locks up tight with a smooth, even trigger pull that has a crisp break.  A very nice example of these classic post-War target revolvers.  FFL or C&R
