Pre-War Colt .22 Official Police Revolver with Original Box
Serial #12727, .22 LR, 6" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a 1937-made revolver that has retained 97-98% of the original blue finish with some mild silvering at the muzzle, along the high edges and projections, and a faint turn-ring on the rear of the cylinder. The checkered hammer and trigger have retained nearly all of their original blue finish and there is almost no freckling on the sides of the hammer spur. The original rounded front sight blade was milled into a flat vertical Patridge-type at some point for better visibility. The checkered walnut Colt medallion grips are in excellent shape with only some minor handling marks and almost no flattening of the points on either panel. The lock-up is still tight and the action functions flawlessly. The revolver is housed in the original numbered cardboard box with damaged lid and comes with both the original numbered test target and Shooting Suggestions pamphlet. This is a fine example of a Colt .22 Official Police, and would make a fine addition to any collection. FFL or C&R
