Exceptional Plant's Mfg. Co. 3rd Model Army Revolver

Serial #7812, .42 Caliber (Cup-Primed), 4 3/4" octagon barrel with an excellent, bright bore.  This is a very handsome, Type II revolver that retains 92-95% of the original bright blue finish on the barrel, cylinder, and cylinder pin, with mild silvering along some of the raised edges and projections.  The brass frame retains nearly all of the original silver plate finish, with some edge wear revealing the underlying brass.  The rosewood grips are in very good-fine shape with some scattered minor handling marks and some moderate wear at the butt on both sides.  The revolver is still fully functional with an action that advances crisply and locks tightly.  This is the highest condition Plant’s revolver we have ever seen, and is in excellent original condition overall.  It would make a superb addition to any collection.  Antique
