Fine Original Civilian Colt Iron 44 Cal. Bullet Mold 1860 Army

This is an original Colt .44 Caliber bullet mold for the Colt Model 1860 Army revolver manufactured by Colt.  This Civilian model mold is marked with “44H” on the top face of the right block and is marked “COLT'S PATENT” in two lines along the top of the sprue cutter.  In fine condition the exterior retains some of the original high grade blue finish with scattered use marks and the round and the heeled pointed conical cavities remain in excellent, near new condition.  A very nice example as shown in Rapley's  The History and Identification of Colt Accoutrements  1834-1911 book on page 137 as "M#28”.
