German Gew.71/84 Mauser Infantry Rifle by Spandau

Serial #8190, 11mm Mauser, 31" barrel with an excellent, bright bore.  This is an 1888-dated, all matching-numbered rifle that retains 92-95% of the original blue finish with some areas of mild fading along length of the barrel.  The receiver and bolt have a mottled gray and plum-brown patina with some thin freckling in spots as well.  The walnut stock is in fine condition with crisp stamps in the original oil finish, and there are very few handling marks or blemishes present save for a single impact bruise on the right side of the buttstock just behind and below the "(Crown) / K" and "(Crown) / W" stamps.  This is an excellent example of a little-used Gew.71/84, and would make a splendid addition to any collection.  Antique
