Hard to Find Late 1880's Winchester Centennial 1876 Box 45-75 BP Ammo
This is a full box, 20 rounds, of .45-75 W.C.F. Black Powder “Centennial” 1876 ammunition manufactured by By Winchester for the Centennial Model 1876 rifle. The green and black square corner box has the early style type face and spellings including “Calibre” but has the headstamped cartridge cut, the first time this appears in the series dating the box to circa late 1880's. The box is in fine condition with a very nice cartridge cut and clearly legible “Model “Centennial” 1876” title below but has some overall age soiling, staining and flaking and is solid with old tape repairs. The cartridges all appear to be period correct and all have “W.R.A. CO” headstamp, in excellent condition but may not have been native to this box or perhaps some spent time in a cartridge belt as they show slightly different age darkening on some cases and some bullet heads. An important caliber for the Winchester collector that is part of the 1876 “Centennial” marked box series.
