Beautiful Orvis Ken Largin Trout & Bird Knife Marked “KELGIN”

This is a trout and bird knife marked and sold by Orvis made for them by Ken Largin and marked “KELGIN” a maker famous for many successful knives including his Operation Desert Storm fighting knives.  It measures 6 5/8” overall with a 3 1/8” carbon steel full tang drop point blade with file work thumb rest. The blade remains unsharpened, retains all its satin finish and is etched “KELGIN” along the obverse top edge and “ORVIS” on the reverse side. The brass bolster has mellowed to goldenrod with some light staining and pitting on the top front corners from sheath storage. The rosewood scales remain excellent and are each fastened by two bright brass pins. Included is an open throat wet-formed leather sheath with double stitched seams stamped “GENTS” on the rear side beneath the belt loop.  A very well made and collectible Orvis knife that you wish you bought when they were available.
