Custom Made Alvin Howery 4 1/2" Hunting Knife 1986
This is a Custom Made fix blade by Alvin Howery, it is a 4 1/2" blade, full tang, Hunting Knife built in 1986 at Libby MT. About Alvin, decorated World War II veteran, he worked 33-year career with Montana Power. In 1986, he retired and they moved from Whitlash to Libby, returning to Shelby in 1995. Alvin was a member of the American Legion Post in Galata. He was well-known for his homemade knives and his skill at fixing anything. This example has a 4 1/2" drop point blade with jimping on the top rear of the blade, light oxidation near the guard . The elctro-pen signed and dated blade has a nice patina, sharp edge and a small nick near the tip which could be removed. The guard is a U shaped piece of copper or brass that is through pinned twice to the blade. The antler handle scales are free on cracks or splits and fits in the hand well, held with two pins. This comes with a hand made three rivet, heavy leather sheath with tight stitching and excellence quality. Amazing balance and feel to this knife and will add to any collection.
