Swedish Model 1896 Rifle by Carl Gustafs
Serial #7843, 6.5 x 55mm, 29" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some mild freckling within the grooves. This is an 1899-dated rifle that has 75-80% of the original blue remaining, and a pewter gray patina on the balance, along with some scattered spots of plum-brown freckling. The bolt is numbered to a different gun and has some areas of mild pitting on the handle, and plum-brown freckling on a few spots along the otherwise arsenal bright body. An import stamp is present on the right side of the barrel. The stock and handguard are in very good shape, with numerous minor handling marks and blemishes scattered about the added military oil finish. The stock disk lists a nominal bore diameter of 6.51mm, and grade 2 classification. The rifle has an original leather sling installed, that is moderately flaked and worn, but still fully serviceable. The rifle also comes with an unmarked cleaning rod and a removable blank firing adapter. This is a good looking Swedish Mauser, and is in very good-near fine condition. FFL or C&R
