US Model 1878 / 1902 Philippine Constabulary Model Revolver by Colt
Serial #47282, .45 Colt, 6" barrel with a very good, bright bore that has some dark spots of mild pitting about midway down the length. This is a 1900-made revolver that has had the 1902 trigger modifications installed. The metal has retained about 20-30% of the original blue finish with the balance faded to mottled gray, especially along the high edges and projections, and thin freckling in patches throughout. Original bright blue is still visible on protected areas, mostly on the sides of the large trigger guard bow, and the hammer and long trigger retain a commensurate amount of original bright fire blue. Crisp "RAC" (Rinaldo A. Carr) and "JTT" (John T. Thompson) inspection stamps are present on the frame, as is a "US" under the cylinder on the right side. The checkered hard rubber grips are in very good-near fine shape with some wear and flattening to the points on either side. The lock-up is still tight, and the action is fully functional in both single and double-action. This is a very nice Colt solid-frame DA revolver and is in very good-fine condition overall.
