Hopkins & Allen Arms Co. Model 1922 Falling Block Rifle Octagon Barrel 22RF

Serial #45107, .22 RF, 24 inch octagon barrel with a fine dark bore with good rifling and moderate roughness.  This is the Hopkins & Allen Arms Co. Model 1922 Falling Block rifle built prior to WWI with the official span of production from 1887-1914.  In near excellent condition the barrel retains about 85-90% of the original blue that has thinned on the high edges with scattered ares of freckling and spotty finish loss with use marks and scattered small contusions.  The frame shows a generous amount, perhaps 70-75% of the case-hardened colors thinned in the use areas with scattered light freckling.  The stock is solid and shows numerous old use marks and contusions and the Schnable tip forearm shows comparable use but has a crack on the right rear top that extends most of the way through extending about 3 inches and may require stabilization.  It has a buckhorn rear and brass bead front sights.  The action functions properly.  Overall a near excellent example of a classic single shot rifle not usually found in high condition.  FFL or C&R
