Outstanding Factory Restored S&W Antique Model 38 Safety Hammerless
Serial #62353, .38 S&W, 5 inch round ribbed barrel with a light to moderately pitted bore. This is a Third Model 38 Safety Hammerless revolver manufactured by Smith & Wesson from 1890-1898. Marked with a star and date on the left grip frame indicating factory rework in March of 1965 this outstanding looking double action remains in excellent condition seeing little if any use since it left the factory a second time. It retains virtually all 99% restored nickel plate and blue (triggerguard) finishes with a few light handling marks. The trigger retains bold case-hardened colors on the sides of the trigger while the face has toned to gray. The mother of pearl grips rate excellent with a very nice fit. All appropriate parts are correctly numbered to the gun, barrel to frame lockup is tight, pinned half-moon front sight, fixed rear sight, and it functions mechanically. A wonderful example of a factory restored safety hammerless. Antique
