Outstanding Winchester Box 50-110 Express Black Powder Ammo Full Box

This is a full box, 20 original rounds, of .50-110 Express black powder ammunition manufactured by Winchester with 300 grain bullets.  The blue and black label, square corner box has excellent, crisp labels with a superb cartridge cut that call out the Model 1886 rifle.  Called by Giled and Shuey on p160  in the One Hundred Years of Winchester Cartridge Boxes, 1856-1956  “one of the most collectible of all Winchester boxes” this example rates among one of the best in terms of condition.  There is a just a hint of age soiling on the label and box with very nice corners and edges except for the top left which shows slight separation.  The cartridges are in excellent condition with some very minor age darkening spots.  A solid, excellent example of this highly sought after caliber for the 1886 rifle.
