Original Colt London Revolver Case
This is an English oak case measuring 12 7/8" x 7 1/2" x 2 1/2", with green baize-lined interior. The exterior is in very good shape with scattered handling marks and surface blemishes, almost no warping, and a drying crack across the length of the floor panel below the hinges. The lid has an intact paper Colt label with Pall Mall, London address. A previous owner’s initials are engraved on the brass plaque on the lid: "A.F.C." The interior partitions are not of standard configuration and were modified to fit a different maker’s revolver, probably a Tranter or other British double-action. The work was done not long after the case was built since the wear of the baize fabric is very close to the original baize on the lid and floor. This is an unusual London Colt case, and is in very good-near fine condition overall.
