Police Marked S&W .38 Safety Hammerless 4th Model Revolver 1907
Serial #212236, .38 S&W, 3 1/4" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a ca. 1907-made revolver that has matching numbers on the frame, barrel, cylinder, latch, and extractor. The metal retains about 75-80% of the original blue finish, with silvering at the muzzle, as well as along the high and exposed edges. Additionally, there is gray-brown flaking on the sides of the frame and on the sideplate. There is a light turn-ring on the cylinder, and the trigger retains much of the original color case-hardening. An unknown police department marking is present on the frontstrap: "M.P.D." The checkered, hard rubber grips are original and numbered to the gun on the interior. They are in fine shape, with only some mild handling marks and some light flattening of the points. The lock-up is tight, with no lateral play in the barrel, and the action functions flawlessly. This is a fine, police-marked "Lemon Squeezer" overall. FFL or C&R
