Published Webley RIC No. 1 Toronto Police Revolver Rig

Serial #95660, .442 CF, 3 1/2" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a handsome revolver that has retained 80-85% of the original bright blue remaining, and the balance flaked to an even, plum-brown patina, mostly on the frame, gripstrap, trigger guard, and rarely seen "skull-crusher" pommel. The hammer, trigger, and ejector assembly have some minor freckling in the otherwise armory bright finish. The topstrap is marked: "P. WEBLEY & SON / LONDON & BIRMINGHAM"; and the left side of the frame has the Webley "Winged Bullet" trademark. Additionally, a Toronto Police Force property mark is engraved on the left side of the frame: "T.P.F."; while a police inventory number is stamped just below: "437". The checkered walnut grip is in very good-fine shape with some flattening of the points and a few minor handling marks in the oil finish. The revolver is housed in an original flap holster with snake buckle gun belt. The leather is lightly crazed in spots, with some flaking on the belt loops, but is still supple and flexible. This very revolver, along with the gun belt and holster, is illustrated on page 100 of "Webley Solid Frame Revolvers – Models RIC, MP, and No. 5" by Black, Davis, and Michaud (2010). This is a fantastic example of a Canadian police-marked RIC revolver that has desirable period accessories, and has been published in a respected reference book. Antique
