Rare S.&W. 44 American Central Fire Ammo Universal Cartridge Company Germany
This is a rare full box, 50 rounds, of .44 Smith & Wesson American black powder ammunition manufactured by The Universal Cartridge Company in Germany imported by Arthur Basch in New York. The two piece black marble and pink label box is solid with old side reinforcing metal rivets on each corner with the inside bottom having professional repairs. The label shows some fading and light flaking but has a great “salty” old look that will display well with your revolver. The cartridges are a mixture of one non-native W.R.A. Co. head stamp and the balance the correct, native rounds all in very good to near excellent condition with some age darkening spots on the heads and one showing age splits. A very good looking box in a rarely seen caliber that's hard to find foreign or domestic.
