Rare Viet Cong Made Hybrid Mauser Cao Dai Pistol with Holster Vietnam

Serial #987654321, 7.65mm bottleneck CF (probably .30 Luger), 4 3/8" barrel with a very good, lightly pitted bore.  This is a very interesting pistol that combines elements from two different Mauser pistol designs.  The barrel and frame are loosely based on the Mauser Model 1914 Pocket, albeit scaled slightly larger; while the slide is patterned after the C.96 "Broomhandle" family of pistols, complete with functional tangent rear sight.  The pistol is a straight blowback design, so its ability to safely handle the .30 Luger is virtually nil.  The fit and finish are actually quite good, although the rifling in the bore appears to have been only partially cut, and the metal retains 90-92% of the original blue finish with some silvering along the edges and projections, as well as mild surface freckling present on the balance.  The checkered cast phenolic resin grip panels are in fine shape with only minor handling marks and some mild flattening of the points on either side.  The pistol comes with a single detachable magazine, and is housed in a modified tan leather holster with magazine pocket.  This is a fascinating pistol, made by an industrious and desperate foe, and would make a stellar addition to any collection of Vietnam War weapons and memorabilia. THIS WEAPON SHOULD NOT BE FIRED. FFL or C&R
