Remington Model 16A Semi-Auto Take Down 22 Rem Auto C&R
Serial #12416, .22 Rem Auto, 22 inch round barrel with a lightly frosted fine bore with strong rifling. This is the Standard model 16A take-down, auto-loading rifle manufactured by Remington featuring a stock loading tubular magazine holding 15 rounds, adjustable rear and dove tail front sight manufactured from 1914-1928. In very fine overall condition the barrel and frame retain about 65-70% original blue finish that thinned on the high edges with an overall mottled appearance fading to plum-brown with some marking on the tang around the sight screws. The walnut stock is solid with numerous old scratches and contusions with the forend in similar condition but missing a small chip out of the Schnabel tip. A solid example of this classic and short lived rifle. FFL or C&R
