Savage Model 99R Rifle 300 Savage Caliber Lever Action Scoped 1954

Serial #729803, .300 Savage, 24 inch barrel with a bright, excellent bore.  This is the Savage Model 99R featuring hand checkered forearm and stock built in Chicopee Fall, Mass in 1954.  The barrel shows virtually all of the original blue finish with the receiver at perhaps 80-85% thinning to gray on the high edges and bottom in the carry points.  The lever is a muted gray with hints of the original case-hardened colors.  The stock is missing the grip cap but otherwise excellent condition with small filled holes near the sling swivel stud and the forearm has a stable wood crack line at the tip but is near excellent with light use marks.  It is equipped with a vintage fixed power scope with clear optics mounted in Weaver flip over mounts to allow for use of fixed sights.  A great deer rifle that is ready for the woods.  FFL or C&R
