Scarce 1962 Montgomery Ward Hawthorne 22 Long Over-Labeled Issue Ammo

This is a full box, 50 original rounds, of .22 Long ammunition manufactured by Montgomery Ward in 1962 with an added stuck on warning label part of the  “Hawthorne” Over-Labeled issues.  In order to comply with the Consumer Private Safety Commission mandates for child warning info on ammunition boxes Federal Cartridge company used old stock and added a label to bridge the time period until newly printed boxes were ready.  The one piece blue, gold, black and white box is solid and in excellent condition.  The cartridges are in excellent condition.  Identified as MW-5A L-2(b) in Roger Huegel's online .22 Rim Fire Box ID Reference based on the original Dunn classification system.
