Scarce Benet Primed 45-70 Shot Cartridge Frankford Arsenal 1877

This is a single collector round of .45-70 Shot ammunition manufactured at Frankford Arsenal and was among the first of the labeled head stamp cartridges produced.  There is discussion at to whether these scarce cartridges were an A.W. Stokes Kirk later assembled loading.  In excellent condition the Benet (inside) primed copper case cartridge is marked “CF 6-77” and has a 5/8 inch wood sabot containing shot.  Regardless of source they are a very interesting addition to any cartridge collection or to display with your Trapdoor rifle.
