Scarce Standard Arms Co. Model M Slide Action Rifle in .30 Remington
Serial #1898, .30 Rem., 22" barrel with a very good, bright bore that has some minor freckling within the grooves. This is the simplified, slide-action only variant of the Model G slide/autoloading rifle made by Standard Arms Co. of Wilmington, DE prior to WW1. This example has retained 50-60% of the original blue finish blending with plum-brown, as well as gray fading at the muzzle, along the high edges, and on the bearing surfaces. The relief-stamped brass slide has a mottled ochre-brown patina which repeats on the original "S /A / C / o" stamped brass buttplate. The walnut buttstock has some scattered handling marks and blemishes in the original finish, which has thinned along a few spots as well. The action is fully functional, and the rifle rates very good-near fine overall. FFL or C&
