Smith & Wesson “S” Prefix Post War 38 M&P Pre-Model 10 Built 1948

Serial #S954511, .38 Special, 5 inch round ribbed barrel with a bright, excellent bore.  This is the Smith & Wesson M&P Pre-Model 10 revolver built in 1948.  The post War revolver remains in excellent plus condition retaining vitaually all, 97-98% of the original blue finish on the barrel and frame with only slight use and handling marks having a faint drag line on the cylinder.  The hammer and trigger show vibrant case-hardened colors.  The diamond center checkered walnut stocks rate excellent and are correctly numbered to the gun.  A beautiful very high condition example of the relatively scarce post WWII “S” prefix Smith & Wesson Pre-Model 10 revolvers.  FFL or C&R
