Captain Fred Muhs Atlantic Brant Duck Decoy 1979

This is an Atlantic Brant decoy hand carved by the legendary Captain Fred Muhs of Hampton Bays, Long Island, New York in 1997. It has beautiful relief carved wings and tail feathers with expertly painted and detailed finish. This decoy is free of chip or cracks with only the slightest signs of age. Signed and dated 1979 on the underside with maker’s brand. Capt. Fred Muhs was a world class carver. Some of his ducks are displayed at the Ward Museum. He won multiple awards and prizes at the World and National competitions.
