Springfield Armory 1903 NRA Marked Rifle Built in 1916

Serial #621044, .30-06, 24" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a 1916-made rifle that has a 12-15 dated, "SA" barrel with the metal retaining about 85-90% of the original blue finish that has silvered at the muzzle, as well as along the high edges, and on the bearing surfaces of the correct, straight-handled bolt. A clear "(flaming bomb) / NRA" marking is present on the trigger guard just ahead of the magazine floorplate. The rifle has a sheet metal front sight hood, but the original rear sight was removed and a period Lyman 48S rear target sight was installed on the right side of the receiver. The original Springfield walnut stock and handguard have minor handling marks and small surface blemishes scattered about the reapplied military oil finish that has left the proof stamp and "J.S.A." inspector cartouche crisp and clear. This is a very good-near fine example of an NRA Style "S" service rifle overall, and would make a nice addition to any collection. FFL or C&R
