Splendid US Model 1899 Krag Carbine by Springfield Armory
Serial #360882, .30-40, 22" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has traces of freckling within the grooves. This is a truly handsome carbine that retains 97-98% of the original blue finish, with some touches of silvering at the muzzle and other projecting edges. The bolt has the knurled cylindrical cocking-piece, and retains nearly all of the original armory bright finish with some specks of freckling on the handle. The extractor likewise retains nearly all of the original brilliant nitre-blue finish. The walnut stock and humpback handguard are in excellent shape with only minor handling marks and surface blemishes scattered about the original military oil finish. A crisp "ISA / 1901" cartouche is present on the left side of the wrist. This is a very handsome late-production Krag, in excellent overall condition, and would make a stellar addition to any collection. FFL or C&R
