High Condition Stevens 22RF Pocket Rifle No. 40 New Model Single Shot Pistol

Serial #24035, .22 LR, 10 inch part round / octagon barrel with a very fine bore with strong rifling and light roughness.  This is the J. Stevens A & T Co. New Model Pocket Rifle No. 40 built during the production run from 1896-1916.  In excellent condition the barrel and hammer retain about 96-98% of the original blue finish with slight wear at the muzzle and some scattered mild use marks.  The frame and shoulder stock show virtually all, 97-98% of the original bright nickel finish.  All numbered parts match except for the barrel which is numbered #24930 and appears to be a factory mistake with the “9” instead of “0”.  The smooth walnut factory grips are numbered to the gun and remain in excellent condition. It is sighted with the original flip down rear ladder sight and Stevens combination front sight.  The sight looks a little offset.  possibly got banged at one point.  The action locks up tight with barrel on face having a crisp action.  A beautiful, high condition example of these neat little Pocket Rifles.  FFL or C&R
