US Model 1871 Rolling Block Pistol by Remington

Serial #1508, .50 CF, 8" barrel with a fine, bright bore.  This is a US-inspected pistol that has an overall smooth, plum-brown patina along the barrel with traces of original blue still visible on protected areas, and streaks of mild pewter gray on the balance.  The frame retains muted original color case-hardening that blends with a dark plum-brown patina, and the block and hammer have a dark patina as well.  The walnut forend has numerous handling marks and bruises, while the matching numbered grip has a clear cartouche at the butt, scattered handling marks, and a chip at the toe of the butt.  The action is solid and fully functional.  This is a very good, unaltered Model 1871, and would make a nice addition to any collection.  Antique
