US Model 1903 Rifle by Springfield 1934 Rebuilt for WW2

Serial #1473279, .30-06, 24" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has a small amount of freckling within the grooves. This rifle was originally made in 1934, but now has a WW2 era "SA / 11-42" dated barrel, and has retained 95-97% of a mixed original and reapplied parkerized finish. There is some spotty gray fading at the muzzle, as well as some silvering along the receiver and on some of the high edges and projections. The nickel steel bolt has an armory bright finish with some dark patches of freckling along the body and on the handle. The rifle is equipped with the original sights, but is drilled and tapped for a receiver sight on the right side of the bridge. The stock and handguard are in very good shape with some minor handling marks and blemishes scattered about the added varnish finish. There are no cartouches present in the wood, and the buttstock has an unusual "perch belly" profile. The checkered buttplate is in excellent condition, however the nosecap has a rough surface texture with some pinprick pitting as well. This is nice looking ‘03, in about very good condition overall.
