Unique Extra Long Barrel Eclipse Antique Single Shot Iver Johnson Pistol 22RF

Serial #708, .22 RF black powder, 29 1/4” barrel with a fine dark bore with patches of roughness.  This is the “Eclipse” model pistol manufactured by Iver Johnson from 1871 into the 1890's.  Originally produced with barrels in the 2 to 3 inch range this example was altered to incorporate an extra long barrel with a slightly larger bore diameter.  The barrel is a mottled plum brown with traces of a black paint finish.  The frame and slab sided portion of the barrel retain about 75-80% of the original nickel finish and has excellent model marking.  The rosewood grips are solid and in excellent condition.  The hammer holds at full cock and the barrel click into position with a good lock up.  A unique item that would add to any Iver Johnson or Spur Trigger collection.  Antique
