Very Rare Forehand & Wadsworth No. 41 DA Revolver
Serial #1007, .41 RF, 2 1/2" barrel with a very good, bright bore that has some mild freckling within the grooves. This revolver is the five-shot, "big bore" companion to the more common six-shot .32 caliber F&W DA revolver, and has matching numbers on the frame, barrel, and cylinder. The metal retains 95-97% of the original nickel finish with just a few traces of faint freckling along the sides of the frame, and some turn-rings at the rear of the cylinder. Some faint fire blue (now almost straw colored) is still visible on the sides of the trigger, and the hammer retains much of the now muted original color case-hardening. The rosewood grips are assembly numbered to the gun on the interior ("7" on both panels, as well as on the inside of the backstrap metal), and are in excellent condition with few handling marks or blemishes. The revolver has a complete 2 piece cylinder pin/ejector assembly, and the action is fully functional in both single and double-action. This is a very rarely encountered revolver and is in fine-near excellent condition overall. It would make a stellar addition to any collection. Antique
