Very Rare Sealed! US Cart. Co. Boy Scout 22 Short Ammo Lowell, Mass Circa 1910-15

This is a full and sealed box of .22 short ammunition manufactured by the United States Cartridge Company.  This is the first type box unofficially manufactured by the USCCo. starting in 1910 with this design lasting until 1915 when a red, white and blue box was introduced and quickly withdrawn as they were instructed to remove the “Boy Scout” wording.  The resulting box kept the same design but sold under “Scout” to avoid naming conflict.  This rare example is in excellent, crisp condition with sharp graphics and fully intact side seal label.  Identified as US-14 S-1 “Scout Issues” in Roger Huegel's online .22 Rim Fire Box ID Reference.   A must have for the Boy Scout collector and the 22 ammo collectors.  It would be hard to find a nicer example!
