Vintage Browning Renaissance Fleece Lines Case
The pouches for the Renaissance model were slightly different than the red felt lined cases supplied by Browning. According to Vanderlinden, 2nd edition, page 360 "Renaissance guns were provided with pouches with a slightly different shape and a more deluxe white fleece interior. The pouches were made of black vinyl or "leatherette" with heavy brass zippers and the Browning name in gold on one side." I would think the fleece case came with the Renaissance model as noted by Vanderlinden, and then also offered as an optional Browning catalog accessory. Use of the brass zipper pouches ran from about 1964 to the early 1980s when they were replaced by black plastic zippered pouches. This example is in excellent condition with only light signs of use and age soiling, excellent Scovill brass zipper functions properly and the fleece lining is in very good condition with light age soiling with nice barrel pouch. If you have a period Browning this case will round out the collection perfectly. 15"x7"
